Skye - Yoga
Born and raised in sunny South Africa, the bright lights of London called me in my 20s, where I spent almost a decade in the glamorous chaos of film, TV and advertising. During that time, I became a high-performing corporate professional living what many would call a "successful" life in the fast lane, but I also became well-acquainted with feeling anxious and stressed, wired and tired, burnt out and flat out. And right when I needed it most, I found yoga...
At first, I was drawn to yoga for its physical perks — feeling leaner, stronger and more flexible. But the practice soon revealed something far more profound. Movement became my medicine: calming my nervous system; quieting my relentlessly busy mind, which improved my performance and productivity at work; and I began healing a long and tumultuous relationship with my body. Yoga taught me to move not as punishment, but with gratitude for my health - and to embody a more graceful presence, on and off the mat.
I became such a strong advocate for the practice that I eventually swapped red carpets (and cortisol) for yoga mats, completed my teacher training in London, and migrated south to Spain. Now I spend my time helping others MOVE from spinning plates to blissful states through the power of yoga — what I like to call #firstaidforthesoul.
